My name is Stephen Crider and since you’ve already hit my site, have probably already figured that out. I was born and raised in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania and have lived in the Perry County town of Duncannon for the past 36 years. I am a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving in England, Texas, and Washington from 1971 through 1975.
I’ve been married to my wife Terry for 45 years and have a son and daughter and four grandchildren.
From the professional standpoint, I’ve been a computer programmer since 1980 beginning with the IBM mid range line starting with the S/34, moving to the S/36 and finishing up with the AS/400. In 2005 I began the transition to the Microsoft technologies and currently hold an MCSD in Visual Basic 6 and an MCAD.NET in .NET technology. I am also skilled in Microsoft SQL Server and have also done development in Oracle but SQL Server is my strong suit. I retired in 2020.
In my spare time, I taught myself PHP and MySQL and developed the web site for the Duncannon Area Girls Softball Association with help from my son Kevin A Crider who did the visual design work. I coached girls slow-pitch softball for 20 years completing my final season in 2014.
When I’m not doing programming, I enjoy writing fiction. I am hoping to get one of my works Alex, published either through conventional means or with self-publishing. I have a number of other completed works that I would consider publishing if and when Alex makes it to book form.
